I know it is the best helmet in the world and not available in the US, and furthermore would probably fit my swollen head like a glove, but I don't have the $500 starting bid much less the Buy It Now price of $725. There is a XXL Shoei modular listed which I made a (rejected) $300 offer on. Now, if somebody would just buy the Schuberth I have listed on the buy and sell here...

If only I woulda known...
I tried on a beautiful Schuberth XXL last fall that was 50% off and was the last one they had at Extreme. Graphics were fantastic and of course, great specs, but it was too small, I needed a 64. Coulda been yours...
I have a question...eventually for Germanophile...
or any Schuberth helmet "Expert"...Schuberth aficionados etc etc
What is or are the most active German forums
where I can ask in English trough which online store I can shop a Schuberth C3 for the best price ?
A friend of mine based in Germany will buy it for me... but he is a brilliant biochemist at thousand miles of thinking about motorcycle helmets but he can glue you back your fingers in 20 minutes if you loose them.
@Don - Sorry about. Didn't check their shipping details - esp. as Frederic said his friend was going to ship. Pretty sure other one won't ship either then. Perhaps Schuberth helmets are not US certified.

Exactly ! beside designerhelmets.com I do not know any online stores in Europe that ship in US...I asked around but they all replied the same way as Don quoted above.
But my idea is to ask a friend based in Germany to order one for a good price like it is for him then ship it to me in California as a gift.
As Neils recently wrote"According to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, motorcycle helmets are imported duty-free unless they are made in Cuba or North Korea, which is not very likely. So it doesn't seem to be worth a lot of effort to avoid a nonexistent duty."
I asked designerhelmets.com to really check where was made the C3. They confirmed that INDEED it come from Germany.
Remain to check what is the Gift value limit in between Germany and USA... I can even ask him to remove the Schuberth stickers on the helmet then ship in an anonymous box rather than the Schuberth one... to make it like it is almost a used one.
You Right Its Indiana Jones !
not a Smuggler
and soon he might wear
a Schuberth C3...
I don't understand why you want to call the helmet a gift or remove the labels. All you have to do is have your friend put the correct HTS number and country of origin on the Customs Declaration and ship it by UPS or FedEx, and it should sail right through Customs.
There is no US law that requires a motorcycle helmet to comply with the DOT standard for it to be imported. Some states require that a DOT helmet be worn by all riders, but others don't require any helmet to be worn at all, so that's not an importation issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong (no fear of that happening in this forum ), but isn't the BMW System 5 helmet a Shuberth in sheep's clothing? I think I heard at our local dealer that was the case...

Indeed it is - but the design is specific to BMW, and not exactly the same as any Shuberth sold under their name.

And strangely after a quick browsing I cannot find any of those System 5 in US even if they are still marketed as BMW helmets.
Just saw some estimated prices in few short reviews which said that it cost around $950... well I don't mind paying for quality but at this price its different specially if blue tooth system is not really my priority.
Anyone know where to order those system 5 from US at a good price ?

Nowhere. BMW will not sell helmets in the US. Can't be done. You can't even order them from Canada or Germany.. dealers are prohibited from shipping them to the US. Only way you're gonna get one is if you have a friend in Germany (or Canada who doesn't mind lying on a written/sworn form that says he won't sell it to anyone in the US..)

. . . where to order those system 5 from US at a good price?
Nowhere in USA that I could find but http://www.designerhelmets.com/prodlist ... d=System+5 sells the System 5 for about $400, including shipping. I bought a C3 from them about a month ago — outstanding customer service. Got the helmet within a week.
But what size? You might have to pay an additional $30-$40 for an exchange. I read in the comments at webbikeworld.com that a large C3 was comparable to a large Shoei RF-1000, which a local dealer had in stock. For sizing the Schuberth manual advises to measure your head 2 cm above your eyebrows. I would guess the System 5 is similiar. If you're in between sizes, Schuberth recommends trying the smaller first.
See page 64 of the C3 manual for more sizing info.
