Filtered earplugs ?

Post by thepeacebullgrunt »

Is anyone using this kind of earplugs... http://www.earinc.com/p1-filtered-sonicvalve.php it seems like they filter certain frequency's or only certain noise at harmful pitch levels.

Also what I do not like with other earplugs is to remove them after every ride...at least this one can be kept all day long and in addition to riding noises will protect me from the cacophony of Los Angeles streets while still allowing me to communicate with others. I will just have to only remove them in formal meetings.

I'm a very satisfied customer of earinc. I have their audio plugs as well as a solid pair.

I have another custom set of plugs from my audiologist that look like those. I got them for shooting and riding (not at the same time). They definitely don't work well enough at an indoor range, but seem to reduce the sound a bit under a helmet. So I'll wear them on social rides where there will be stopping and talking at lights or corners. But I'll use the other 2 for more serious trips.

Hope this helps.

I always thought these guys did a really solid job on earplug reviews:

http://www.webbikeworld.com/

See this article, for instace:

I always found they also were very dead on for helmet noise, i think my most critical point when buying helmets (in addition to crash safety, naturally).

cheers

I have a question !

Is there any company who designed some kind of mushy padding
to stick or velcro inside any helmets on and around the ears
to almost act as earplugs resident always in the helmet ?

I have a Schuberth C3 on his way to California... finally ordered from UK !
noise reduction is supposes to be awesome on this helmet
so the solution might still be a pair of filtered Earinc to protect even more and keep in the hears
a clear colored custom earplugs all day long just to deal once for all with the Los Angeles cacophony even when not riding...

Thanks Kale and BCC
I found the Earinc from the WBW.com reviews.
Indeed I am looking for some kind of custom fit filtered earplugs which will not force me to remove them 10 times a day
while still allowing me to hear up to a certain level so the conversation with others will still be possible.
For the look I can remove them in more formal meetings.
