What's In Your Garage?

Post by snag »

Just read Dale_K's post on rack caps. Noticed the toys in the background in the picture. Seems like a lot of us fall into the mature gearhead demographic. So I'm curious, what else have you got in the garage, both two wheel and four, and what are your favorites?

For me: R1200R, CB750, CBX, CBR125R, Kawi 250, Z4, X3 and a '67 MGB. Favourites are the 12R and the MGB. The Z4 is the Brides, it's her favourite.

How's this:

Image Image Image Image Image Image

Never thought I'd have four Hondas in the garage but their cheap and parts are plentiful. 125s are my Giro bikes, 550 was just because I never had a four cylinder. I ride the Valk when I'm out with the Harley crowd (I just couldn't bring myself to buy a HOG). The /5 is an old friend and some day it will be my last bike. I shouldn't have to explain why the R1200R lives in my garage.

Hmmm.. I seem rather shabby with only one bike at the moment (I tried - but nothing I looked at got me excited.. guess the R12R is THAT good..)

So - all BMWS: '01 M-Coupe (325hp, 3000lbs - fun toy); '02 BMW M3 convertible.. (333HP, more weight - still rather fast) and the utility vehicle '03 525i"Touring" (AKA Wagon).

Impressive collections. Respect gentlemen.

My garage contents are more modest in comparison, but they satisfy my simple biking philosophy:

Summer: Road Bike - BMWR1200R, Winter: Off-road bike - KTM400EXC

I barely have room for anything else now that my garage is filling up with R12R windshields. I bought this little sailboat at the local used car lot last summer for $800 including boat, trailer and the mighty 2hp Johnson outboard.

Who am I kidding? I'll ride the R1200R in any weather.

One of the other big time waters is messing about in boats and fro that we have a Triton TR18 bass boat, a PolarKraft MV1648 duck boat, and a Sea Nymph Stinger Sport deck boat for hosting company and water skiing.

The cages are rather mundane so I'll not bother you with that

Geez louise - I can't keep up. You lot should haveta live in a world where vehicles cost real money (just jealous)

My garage has only
2007 R1200R
2004 F650CS
2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara
gear trailer for camping
2 sea kayaks
3 inflatable kayaks
2 hybrid bicycles
5 pr xc & xcd skis
too many tents (lost count)
too much camping gear

Lost 2 toys to space and cashflow I'd rather have kept
1985 R80 (sweet little bike)
2000 E39 528i
#584 Crystal Grey tour-farkelled Vespa GTS250 PX150

My tin rainsuit is a 525i Sport Wagon, which sits in the garage most of the time. Other items include a Vespa GT, two fiberglass kayaks, a Klepper kayak, an assortment of bicycles, (serious bicycles), a trailer to haul the kayaks or bicycles, tool chest, and shelves holding helmets, PFDs, diving gear and so on. And that is just the Florida Garage. We also have houses in MA and NH with more motorcycles, bicycles, and human powered water craft of one sort or another, a plethora of camping gear, etc. all taking up valuable garage/barn space. Space for stuff is in short supply, just like time to enjoy it all.
