Re: Kellermann Turn Signals
Hi Matt,
I have them installed and I have replaced the original relay with the Kisan relay. This works fine with the Kellermans. If you want to use the original relay you need resistors. An info about these can be found on the kellerman website ... If you have any questions please let me know.

Hey Oliver~
Thanks alot for posting the response. I was basically fishing for you anyway, I knew you had the Kellermann's. Your contributions to the site here are greatly appreciated. My R1100R modifications are on par with yours, and when I'm ready, I'll post some pictures for you. The availability of aftermarket parts here in the U.S. for BMW's in general is quite scant, so my project is going along accordingly-even the Kellermann's were kind of hard to find. With all of the stuff Germans have readily available, it's as if everyone over there is riding around on an oilhead, women, children, the elderly included!

thanks for your kind post. Well reality is that the oilheads are the most sold bikes in mainland Europe (the GS is on top of the leaderboard) and thus we have quite a few aftermarket producers making parts available for these bikes. Also we have a very active society with a couple of forums about almost every aspect you could imagine ... And in some of the forums even BMW staff contribute ...
With regards to the Kellermans there is a third and a fourth solution (if you are good in soldering!). The third solution is soldering a bridge between 2 contacts on the original relay and the fourth is to solder an additional PCB on to the original OCB and slide it into the original relay. The third does not cost you a dime and the fourth around 40 bucks. If you are interested I'll research both options for you and get you the necessary info. Please advise if you still need this. And if you need anything in particular which you cannot get in the US I could buy it locally and get it sent over to you (only exceptional cases please).
Kind regards
Oliver
Re: Kellermann Turn Signals
Why not use the incandescent Kellermans, e.g. original Micro 1000?

The 6W halogen bulb is plenty bright. Had these on my Buell. You won't have to play around with resistors for LED implementation.

Re: Kellermann Turn Signals
Hi Sweatmark~
Originally I was thinking of getting the regular Micro 1000's, but I wanted the white glass and I'm probably going to end up having them smoked. Thanks for your reply.
Oliver!
Thanks again for your knowledge and insight. You're really like the 1100R guru around here. To keep it simple, I think I'm just going to install a new relay when I put the Kellermann's on, but I do appreciate the options you presented.
Yeah, over here Harley's are the most sold bike so there are endless resources dealing with them. Maybe I should move!
There is a part I'm looking for now that falls into the 'exceptional case' category. I really would like to buy the DS Racing camshaft. A long time ago, I had the web address of Dirk Schaefer, but now, even searching through Google, I can't find his site. I was just going to give in and buy Wunderlich's camshaft, which I'm sure is fine. But the one I really want, because it's such an integral part, is the Schaefer camshaft. The Wossner piston kits are available here in the U.S. The piston/camshaft replacement I will probably do this fall-right now I'm mainly doing cosmetic things. Let me know what you think~thanks again!

Re: Kellermann Turn Signals
Matt,
the company you're looking for is this one http://www.edelweiss-motorsport.de/sites/main.htm Dirk is the owner and his camshafts are a reference for every oilhead-tuner. There are 2 different camshafts available. Camshaft "1" gives you more power/torque in the lower/mid rpm-range and camshaft "2" gives you more power/torque in the upper rpm-range. Camshaft 2 is more for racers/racetrack-use. Most comrads/tuners here in Germany use version 1 which is more appropriate for road-use ...
We have a tuner (http://www.boxergarage.de) who has also made my engine (pistons, camshafts, chip) who sells a pair of camshafts at EUR 360 (per pair) + shipping to me of EUR 7. I am very happy with these and if you're interested please let me know. Shipping these to the US would cost 15 Euros. Hence total cost would be EUR 382 (at todays exchange rate approx USD 540).
If you look at the boxergarage.de page on the left click "shop" and then on the left under "Tuning" click on "hardware" and you'll see what they offer. The Wunderlich camshafts come from Edelweiss (but more expensive if you buy from Wunderlich). The Boxergarage camshafts also come from Edelweiss but less expensive. If you want to seriously pimp your engine you'd have to get a) tuning chip, b) woessner pistons, c) edelweiss camshafts. The result will be in the range of +/- 95-100 HP and around 105-110 NM torque. Boxergarage at the moment have an offer for the chip and the camshafts at EUR 490.
I have gone further and have a complete bodis exhaust system and a gimmick to let the engine breathe better (thus elimininating a dip in the torque diagram which all oilheads have at around 3500-4000 RPM) called "Volair" (cou can find this on the boxergarage site) and some aluminium nozzles.
Chip/camshafts/pistons will cost you around EUR 860 in total (if you would like to make use of the boxergarage offer) + shipment. Quite a bit of money and some work involved!
Suggest further communication by PM.
