NEED HELP SWAPPING ENGINES!!!!

Post by cdude619 »

This is the 7th time of trying to write this without either getting kicked off or my pictures not showing up and erasing my entire post!!!!!!

2002 r1150r
Front end dismantled, everything under the gas tank... battery, filter, alternator?! I think... ABS... Pistons and headers , cylinders, removed. the 2 bars in the bottom that go to the exhaust, removed. Can the rear part of the frame be lifted without having to remove the rear tire, shaft, and swing arm? Do I need the auxiliary stand? I also need to remove the lead link which is attached to the top of the engine.

I need HELP. I have the entire 300 page manual but it appears that the entire rear frame is stripped to remove the engine. I am also seeking the Doctor!! Dr Wong's Clinic?!?!?! HELP!

The OEM service manual shows an auxiliary frame in the engine removal chapter, with both wheels still on the bike. I would imagine that without it you need to disassemble the entire bike. I practically did just trying to replace the clutch, so I recommend starting from the back of the bike, putting a lift under the motor then removing the front. Pretty much removing the motorcycle from the engine. Still waiting for RB racing to send me my new friction disc, so I haven't tried putting it back together.
