Center Stand for R1150R Rockster 04 Question

Post by taino »

I have a 2004 R 1150 Rockster that I got without a center stand. Someone is selling a used '02 R1150R center stand. Does anyone see a reason why this won't fit my bike?

Thank You

I can't imagine it wouldn't fit.

Did the same for my Rockster - purchased 2nd hand R1150R Roadster center stand. Installed without problem. Cannot remember what specific hardware was included or needed, but the process was simple. Most difficult part was working with bike on side stand, and stretching the spring into place.

I just use a big screwdriver through the square hole in the spring connector and pry against the front side of the cat. The other gotcha is you have to have everything in place, other than the spring, as you put it on. You can't put parts onto the bike one at a time. Everything (the stand, the pivot pegs, and the washers) has to go together at the same time.

Hey Taino,

One thing about the center stand & the boxer engine. If you're leaving your bike for any extended period of time.. aka overnight or longer, it's best to put the bike up on it, keeping your heads level. Always leaving it leaning on the side-stand allows the oil to pool up in the left head, draining the right and leaving it somewhat "dry" of oil.
