Sorry Harry. I need glasses (there were yellow 400's (F2's I think) hence why I was reminded by the yellow on yours).
The 550 was another very popular model - but for the more serious guys (who had more money). Another sweet Honda 4.
Thankyou everyone. Seems there is support in equal measure for going black or keeping the silver. Thats clear then. For me, the Black has it by a whisker at the moment , with a subtle twist for individuality.
Time to have a chat with the paint specialist.

I guess it must have been very clean and pretty!
Hasn't happened since...
Interesting that this has only happened to you once. I've had a couple of those 'Nice bike!' comments from drivers with my 1200R, but it happened alot more often when I had my blue F650CS. Go figure....
I'd go with pearl white that ranges in tone from semi transparent to opaque, like an opal! Your bike will refract light into flashes of multiple colors, stunning everyone who sees it. Historically, opals have been considered good luck charms, the source of beauty, success and happiness to all motorcyclists around the world! Yea, that's my vote!

Oh, very romantic. I would obviously need too get matching white leathers helmet and boots ,... then traffic would stop when they saw me coming ..... Yep, sounds good.
...probably also need to change my name from Rocket to Road Angel .
Gold but not the bike.
Gold accent seems to do more for the looks of the bike than the paint.
I will try to explain with pictures.
Like your silver bike with a lot of black but this has just a touch of gold. http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/ ... t%2009.htm
With some gold highlights you would have a one of a kind BMW. A local company that does digital imaging could show you the finished product so it might not be trial and error.

I, too, had many comments when aboard my old F650CS. None i can think of on the R1200R. Blah.
My vote is pearl black with pearl white pinstripes.

Thanks for the insight Bobby. Very interesting. Like the idea of the digital imaging. Will ask about that
Peter,
I am not a designer, I just steal idead from others. I like the red, silver, black on the Guzzi.
The green does nothing for me. Is the green part of the logo? The gold forks help a lot. Gold is used and is off balance with the bike most of the time but it still looks good.
Does anyone know the process to make the front brake calipers the same color gold as the forks. I was thinking (turning gold) about the brake calipers or the black louvers on the forks that direct air to the oil cooler.
