If you happen to have a compatible Garmin GPS, they also sell the electronic version of the paper maps on the Garmin website. The maps are on a high-grade plastic map material (waterproof!) and give you a lot of good ideas for rides. Note the whole New England map pack. I have not used those particular ones, but the routes are all ridden by local motorcycle folks, so are good rides.

Check this camp ground out. http://www.lobsterbuoycampsites.com/No black flies. They don't like salt water.

I hesitated because I don't have a lot of good to say about Maine as far as motorcycles go, naturally this is IMHO, etc, etc. We vacationed there for almost twenty years and enjoyed the camping, fishing and other outdoors stuff. We found that late July and early August were the best, after the bugs and before it started to get really cold at night. I've found very few good 'motorcycle' roads in Maine and the coast although it's very scenic is also full of vacationers in cages during the summer months. Traffic jams were the last thing I expected in Maine.
I have a lot of MC friends in Pennsylvania (WestPenn BMW club) and when they head to the Maine coast they go North through the Adirondacks in New York, East to the Lake George,NY area and then pick Rt4 East to the Laconia,NH area, then Rt16 North to Rt2, then East to Jay,Me, then Southeast to the Boothbay Area, then North to Shaw's Lobster Wharf on Pemequid Point (oops, that's a secret place).
Actually if you want to do things I would spend some time in the Laconia area, a ride up Mt Washington is a must do as is a trip across the Kancamagus (Rt112) and their are great motorcycle roads all over the area. If your looking for Moose I've usually seen them on Rt16 between Errol,NH and Rangley,Me. Any road that goes through a Gap or Notch is usually a good MC road, I won't get specific, their are too many of them. I can't recommend the Northern parts of Vermont and New Hampshire strongly enough, as you can tell I really enjoy that area (in the Summer/Spring).
If you going in Mid June their is a BMW rally just North of Laconia, I think they (Yankee Beemer) moved it to the week end before Fathers day week end.
Enjoy yourself it's a great area. What city in Pa are you in?
