Advice please. Sat Nav mounting

Hi Guys

I am intending buying a TomTom Rider v2 and fit it to my 1150 R 04 model.

I have a bit of an issue though. I don’t really want to mount it towards the handlebar ends but would prefer to mount it in the middle using the standard bar mounts.
Is this a good/bad idea and is it feasible and if so can anybody recommend a plate or mounting kit for me?
