R1100R stock shocks. or alternative. help needed...

Post by AKirkpatrick »

Hi all- ive decided to replace my newly bought 2001 R1100R L, lowered Works perf shocks. To regain standard ride height.
Have tried to adjust the WP but only gain about 1cm.

So next step is to find these.
Rear = BMW p/n 33532314701
Front = BMW p/n 31422314700
(are showa shocks - i believe)\

Anyone know of anyone who may have stock shocks ?
Or any recommendations out there that i could change to - without breaking the bank :)

Also is there any other stock shock that will fit the R1100R ? - see there are RS shocks avail but they are a dif part number.

Many thanks for your help , am hoping to get this sorted so as i can go on a run asap.

What kind of shocks do you have now? How much do your shocks lower the bike?

I might (or might not) be interested in swapping my stock suspension for your aftermarket suspension. I have a '99 R1100R. I am 5'-8" tall (and have to stand toes when stopped) but the height hasn't really bothered me. I'm in Southern Utah, so if you are in New Mexico the UPS shipping might not be lengthy or expensive.

Why not contact Works to see what they want to convert back to stock - depending on how many miles are on them they may need a freshen up anyway

A good source would also be ebay where you usually find a couple of the stock shocks for around 50 USD. Just search for "R1100 shock" ... And if you are not sure if shocks from other models fit (such as the shocks off a RT for example) checkout http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do?lang=enUS and compare the partnumbers ...
