Hi y'all Newbie here. I've owned a 2004 R1150R for a year, my first bike, and when I sit on it and move my weight up and down theres a loud creaking noise that appears to be coming from the rubber gaiter on the drive shaft. The bike rides perfectly but I've just re torqued the fixed and floating bearing studs due to a slight play on the rear wheel, which fixed that. Just like to know if this is anything to worry about?
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Creaking noise at shaft
My 2004R did the same thing, sounded like an old set of bed springs creaking. Turned out the pivot bearings were worn out and it is pivoting on the aluminum pins themselves. I was lucky and didn't have to replace the pins, they aren't cheap either.

Mozark is very likely correct...
Check this thread out...read all the way through (except all that quadruple lifer stuff)...

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...
Re: Creaking noise at shaft
Thanks for your responses, I'll replace the pivot bearing and post the outcome soon. Going on a trip to Austria soon so I don't need the worry.
Re: Creaking noise at shaft
I did this repair/upgrade last summer (I think I got the bushing from Rubber Chicken Racing) and a nice side effect was that the bike's handling tightened up a bit. I hadn't noticed the deterioration since it was gradual but after the repair, it was noticeable. Good luck with it!
