I have read the posts on this forum and BMWMOA on how to flush the brakes on an R1200R. During this procedure is the ABS unit flushed at the same time automaticly? Or is there a separate procedure to flush the ABS unit?
Thanks in advance.

Re: R1200R w/ABS brake flush question
The circuits on the ABS unit are mostly flushed when the flush is done (I believe I wrote the MOA based one..) If you want to make sure you've flushed the circuits - the trick is to activate the ABS. It's easier then you might think.jreinhardt wrote:I have read the posts on this forum and BMWMOA on how to flush the brakes on an R1200R. While the bike is on the centerstand, with the ignition on, spin the rear wheel and gently press the rear brake pedal. You'll feel the ABS activate. If you are flushing whilst doing this (probably need more hands), you'll also flush the entire activation circuit in the ABS modulator. I would expect the front to work the same way. FWIW - there is nothing I've read in the factory manual for the R12R that shows any different procedure for a brake fluid flush on the ABS equipped bikes, except to read/clear any fault codes when done.
