Anyone taking a course in designing should bring these pictures to class to show how important "lines" and "flow" are. Neither one are candidates for the Most Beautiful Bike contest, but hey...you can't see the engine while your riding ('cept when your texting).

I like the R50, with the individual filters and did you notice where the computer resides? vertically just behind the engine. The exhaust pipes had to be cut and re-welded, nevertheless a very clean and interesting approach.

I wonder how long the R-50 FD gears/bearings would last with ~4x the HP at full throttle? Nice projects, but I bet the handling/braking is pretty scary in comparison to the stock OilHead/HexHead R model bikes.
The photos of the 50 were taken at the Finger Lakes BMW Rally in Watkins Glen NY last year or the year before. The fitments and the use of the stock FD make the bike, its an impressive bike in person. Yeah, we all said the same thing when looking at it...must go like hell, but forget about stopping. A rat bike, with sophistication and elegance upholding the highest standard of the marque.
And we here should not forget the project documented within the R1150R board a few years back... I can't find the topic thread, but here's the project info on the craftsman/artisan's web site:

Boxer - admit it - you only say that because you're not really a fan of Pam Anderson . . . . . .
Saw that bike @ FLBMW as JCridge pointed out; very sweet, I thought it deserved best of show. To each his own; most people think my 09 GSA looks pretty ratty & it's not a year old yet, especially w/ plastic conduit & rubber mudflaps on had on for a while; but to me it's the epitome of utility, function.
