TWO THUMBS UP!!! I steeled myself as I drove to the old and signless Cliff's parking lot - now MAX BMW CT (new signage on the way). I thought they were closed at first as there was just a few bikes out front, then to my relief I was greeted at the door by my sales guy Dave Hartley ([email protected]). Dave had the new MAX BMW uniform and gave me a walk through of the transition. It looks really good already. Inventory has been added to the floor and there's a long line of bikes from one end (BMW) to the other (Ducati).
Noticable MAX inflow was the addition of the off-road BMW's and the new entry bikes for 2011. The new striped and spoked R1200R, says Ben, is due on the floor this March. According to Ben, Motorrad USA has been very supportive and has been very involved in this dealer transition. Former Cliff's customers will be happy to note they are not lost, the new MAX network is up and the Cliff's database was pulled in. In fact, MAX is looking to tap customers and owners further south and into NY with their service department - check it out. Ducati owners will be happy to note it's business as usual (for those unaware or away from here, Cliff's had many customers that had both brands)
Got a bunch of hugs from Liz in the office too, and we were both sad to see the Cliff's coffee bar leave. I was happy to support the new brand and picked up a bunch of MAX goodies and Gerbings controller. A formal grand opening is pending. Anyone interested in the goings-on should signup for the MAX newsletter at www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com

I'm glad Dave is still there! He is a great guy and I have known him since Lindner Cycle Shop in New Canaan. I'm also glad that both BMW and Ducati remained intactcreamora wrote:I thought they were closed at first as there was just a few bikes out front, then to my relief I was greeted at the door by my sales guy Dave Hartley ([email protected]). Dave is real nice; they didn't even move his desk. He actually talked and listened to me over the two weeks I shopped for a bike last year. I wasn't sure what I wanted in a BMW and he turned me on to the Mistress as soon as it arrived on the floor and the test drive process was pleasant - the rest is history.hankth wrote:Ditto on Dave Hartley!! I'm bad with names but the faces behind the parts counter are the same from Cliff's. I know the gentleman with the gray beard at the parts counter was there and learning the new system the week they opened. I haven't had occasion to get service done yet, so I can't say what's changed if anything down that end. Since MAX has only added to the operation Cliff built, I'm expect they may add more staff next/this year.

That's great! If Max is smart, he will leave the staff intact as they are all top notch.
