MPH
Not speed, distance. One mile on gps equals one mile on odometer?

Yes. Mph equates to miles traveled also.

Yup - that's correct.

Remember the Rockster is basically a "Parts bin special" (albeit with some unique parts).

NIce bike! that is a cool color scheme. regarding a windscreen, I had the same thoughts when I first purchased mine, and ended up buying a Wunderlich Trimm windscreen. It works well. fully adjustable, and not bad looking ! Here is a link... http://www.wunderlichamerica.com/motorc ... 10350.html

I hate to be picky - but those panniers aren't on properly.

The "foot" on the pillion footpeg mount should be between the two lugs on the pannier - by the looks of them (the angle of the top of the pannier compared to the seat, and looking closely at the lower front of the visible pannier), they're not mounted right. The pannier tops should be flat, not canted.
Riceburner, you're right, the bike was setup to show how it looks with the GS screen, not to ride.
I hadn't realised the photo was that clear, I'll know in future that not much goes unnoticed.

Stay safe.

Just wanted to make sure you didn't have a pannier-surfing incident! :)

Hey all,

Just an update on this bike. We had Bob's BMW do some more looking into it, and what they came up with as far as its origins is still confusing.

They basically figured out that it was a US spec bike (odd thing #1), sold originally in Germany (#2), and ended up in the US (#3).

I honestly have no clue where the bike is from or was supposed to be destined for.

On the bright side, I've added as many miles to her as she had when I bought her. I also completed an Iron Butt (Virginia Beach to Long Island and back), and won the 'Youngest Rider' award at the BMWBMW Square Route Ralley '11.

The only mods so far are a set of P3 and photon blaster LEDs and a set of RKA soft bags. The Ztechnik exhaust was on it at time of purchase.
