Re: HELP
Going to take a blind shot at this as I'm really not certain but possibly there may be similarities to my 04 R. On my R there is a lock cylinder on RH side just below midway back on seat. My key when turned right releases spring loaded catch which releases the seat. Possibly there is a lock mechanism on your bike in the same area?

Re: HELP
It's actually pretty easy. Just take off the seat and you will find a lever that releases it.
Apologies, I'm feeling like a smart 455 tonight.

Re: HELP
For whatever reason I was suddenly reminded of something my Dad told me almost 40 yrs ago. I had just bought my first bike--a Harley Davidson 350 Sprint(1969) After spending too much time fixing too much wrong with the Sprint my Dad said to me "Son you just need to jack up the horn button and put a new bike under it!"
K66---hope you get it figured out!
btw--n9owk66---what does your user name signify?

Re: HELP
Go to the rear of the bike and look immediately below the tail light and there you'll find the lock for the rear section of the seat. If you can't see it, drop down onto your knees and have another look - it's tucked up in there.
Removing the seat also gives you access to the tail piece cavity which is a very handy storage space. In mine I keep the toolkit, a bicycle lock to secure helmets to the bike, a tyre repair kit, a tyre pressure gauge, a torch, wet weather pants and a rag.
P.S. If after taking your seat off and later putting it back on you can't find your key, you know where to look don't you?
