I started to ask this question in an older post, but I thought this might warrant a new topic. PLease excuse any double posting.....
I am trying to install the BMW Supplemental Brake Light. I have the CAN-bus version and the "B" Harness that seems to be the correct harness from other posts. It's hooked up on the power end tapping off of the accessory port using factory plugs and on the light end its plugged in at the light and I've connected it to the tail light for the brake trigger. The new brake light doesn't appear to power up at all. Not sure if the light is DOA or if there is some other mystery at work. Power port seems to have power so that goes that the light should be lighting.
The only thing I can think of is maybe I don't have the correct wire for the brake trigger, but that doesn't seem like it should stop the whole thing from working (but then again BMW electros are a bit picky). I connected it to the only one that seemed to fit the connection and this is the solid brown wire (the other two were striped wires one black/white and one red/white that I throught could be power wires for the brake/tailight).
Any help from folks who've installed this setup is appreciated.

Re: Help with Supplemental LED Brake Light
I haven't installed this setup, I run hyper lights and forgot how I installed them years ago anyways.... but I can send you a R1200 electrical schematics PDF if you PM me your email address if you think it could help.

Re: Help with Supplemental LED Brake Light
OK mystery solved. Found an old post where it was mentioned the brown is always ground. Good words to live by. Took a little fiddling with the clip for the brake wire and viola! We have power baby! Thanks to Don Eilenberger for those words of wisdom. Thanks Don, you helped and didn't even know it. Thanks to this site as well.
