Few questions for the Brain Trust
1. It looks pretty straight forward to install, but how did you secure yours and then the license plate, it looks to be using same holes so does it mean if i take off the plate the light wont be attached?
2. Any tips or tricks i should know i got the proper harness at least according to the dealer so it looks like it should be plug and play, but no instructions of any kind where to plug and play
3. i did a search and saw a few pic's of the final install but not actually picture of install if anyone can point me to that it would be nice
4. Anything else i am missing?

Installed this recently as I needed help in the other thread referenced. Yes I have mine attached with the license plate. Install wasn't too bad with the exception that I connected it to the wrong wire on the tail light. I ended up taking off damn near every piece from the power plug to the tail light, so you can save time by just disassembling everything first to make the routing quicker and easier. It actually pretty simple, but it's just time consuming to figure it out in the dark without instructions. I can't remember the exact wire on the tail light, but I think it was the wire in the right hand side. I don't have a pic handy, but I'll try to take one and post it tomorrow. Definitely not sexy, but it is big and bright (and safer).
Two other things....I did not have to modify the harness or wiring as some have, but the wiring is pretty short to the brake light and it may have been a better install if I had, not sure. It just barely fit. Also I wonder about wet weather longevity since it hangs pretty much unprotected. I live in a dry climate, so that's not as big an issue for me.
Tried to install it today, and did not get anywhere. Could not figure out how to plug it in, even though its plug and play.
The only place i could find is one of the turn signal plugs, and then the black wire to the brown wire on the tail light as thats ground right?
if all above is correct, then i have a defective light or have no clue what i am doing. otherwise i am stock i dont see any other place to plug this in.
anyone help?

Unplug the lead to your power outlet on the left side of the bike, just below the seat. Plug in the new auxiliary ("aux") light cable to the back of the outlet. Plug the power back into the back of the aux plug you just installed. Snake the cabling under the seat along the left side back out to the pigtail coming off the auxiliary light. They plug together.
There will be a single lead (I'm thinking it was red) coming out of the cable at the back end of the under seat compartment. There are three wires going to your taillight. One of those comes off to make room for the single wire from the cable. That single wire goes onto the tail light and then the wire you pulled gets piggy backed onto it.
What I can't recall is the color of the wire that you pull off and then re-attach. It might be brown, but I'm not sure. The good news is, there are only three wires so trial and error will solve it for you. The spades on the tail light were not an exact match for the wire from the cable so once you know which one, file, sand, cut, or Dremel it to fit: no big deal.
I had to slit the wrapper an inch or so on the cable to free-up that single wire long enough to fit back to the taillight as it has to do a little snaking around to get back there.
Once everything is hooked up and working correctly - 4 flashes and then remain on wnever you hit the brakes, I recommend wrappping that cannection between the aux light pigtail and the new cable using Scotch Brand Rubber Tape available at better motorcycle parts suppliers everywher, but especially Lowes Motorcycle Parts Emporium and House and Garden store.
When I crashed my Beautiful Blue Roadster almost everything on the bike was bent or broken but not the aux brake light. I had a hell of a time getting the rubber tape off so I could reuse the light on my new Classic Black Roadster.
If this doesn't help, call me. I'm in the book.

I'm not super technical, but lets see if I can help....
The harness has an end with one plug, and at the other end has a "branch" of two different types of plugs about 1 foot of wire going to each (one of these is just a spade-type plug). The single end goes in between the supply and working end of the auxuialry power outlet. At the bi-furcated end, the spade plug goes in between the brake light signal and lense assembly, and the remaining plug connects to the new supplemental brake light.
As for the brake-light spade connection. Brown is definitely ground, so that does not work. I think the correct connection is the grey wire that is to the left side of the ground wire in your picture. If that doesn't work try the other grey wire. One of them drives the tailight, and the other drives the brake light so it will either be correct, and light up withthe brake, or light up with the tail light.
The biggest problem is the short length of the harness in between the brake light and the supplemental light. It just barely fits, and depending on routing may take some minor surgery or added length of the existing brake light wires in order to make work correctly.
Thank you all, i have a strange suspicion i dont have auxuialry power outlet, i remember when buying a bike dealer mentioning that my power outlet was rewired directly to the battery to bypass any canbus issues, any chance one of you cant take a picture of it?
I will report back over the weekend when i will try this again
Thanks again

Don't have time to take a pic right now, but if you have one, it should be located on the left side of the bike, just below the seat and plastic body panels and up near the front of the seat, just tothe rear and above the throttle body if that makes any sense.

yeah it does, i will look there, i think i was looking more towards the tail light which is what my mistake is

OK i am must be loosing any technical abilities i had, because for the life of me i cant connect this light
i figured out that grey cable is what drives the light, the rest is simple brown is ground red is power, and it still does not work. my only conclusion is i have defective light.
I am going to take it to a dealer and let them figure it out, i spend way too much on this at this point and i am frustrated.

So finally got a chance to take it to dealer, only to find out the bastards sold me the wrong harness type A instead of type B, which explains why i could not get anything to work, lol
so the light is installed and works nicely
