2004 R1150R

Post by migtech »

Does anyone know where I can get a windshield for a good price and will keep the wind off me? I am 6' 4" tall and seem to bee finding a lot of different options but I want to see what the majority of this community has had success with. The 2 sites below look like they have windshields but the price is high for the aeroflow and the parabellum has a 23" for 259 but I cant determine if the mounting parts come with it.

Hands down, the tall Aeroflow touring screen would be the way to go, no question about it. Sadly, though it is on their website, they no longer manufacture the brackets so it is effectively NLA. Very unfortunate. Nothing else can compare.

I'm riding with the touring (Large BMW) windshield and like it. I personally don't have any buffeting with it riding with a Full Face Helmet, Shoei Neotec and Shoei X-12. I highly recommend this Windshield system, you should still be able to get it and the brackets from any BMW dealer, may be able to get a better deal at Beemer Bone-yard but not sure.

The Sport and Touring screens BMW sells originated with Ztechnic. BMW bought the design to sell as their own (don't know who actually makes them), but the same screens can be bought from Ztechnic. You will recognize them on their site. I've had more complete service dealing with them particularly when it came to bracket parts.

I have the sports Windshield also and it works good but has less area. I prefer the larger touring one for more wind protection on long trips.

I have put a touring MRA screen on my 2001 R1150r it is excellent and specifically made for the model and make. It fits onto the current brackets and all screws etc are supplied. It took about 15 minutes to change the screens and the difference is amazing. Great for all heights as the screen has an adjustable aero foil to ensure the dirty air is deflected for all rider heights and very reasonable price too. I have tried to upload a couple of pictures but have been unsuccessful not sure what I am doing wrong :? :?
