Engine and Gearbox- Related to Colour Scheme ?

My black 2002 single spark model has a black engine casing and alternator belt cover. I see that a 2004 model, elsewhere on the site, has a silver colour for the same bits.
Is this an age or a tank colour related thing?

Just been on my hands and knees cleaning off Wednesdays agricultural produce before the rains came.

Mine is all black ("Dark Ferro" color option), makes cleaning much less of an issue
