TODAY! 55 degrees, sunshine and after a 3 hour ride my holiday is complete. Wife supports the addiction but really doesn't care. Had to share my happy place with the only group I know would appreciate it.

Winter Ride-Yea Baby!
For those of you in the northeast, it's been a crummy winter for riding opportunities. Lots of rain, ice, etc.

Have a great new year everyone!

Wonderful! We had a great day here in the Shenandoah Valley today. Four of us did about 175 miles today over into WV and back. Had a great time!

Sweet! Great holiday time! Especially since it's going to be ugly for the next several days-in central pa. anyway.

Re: Winter Ride-Yea Baby!
I too took short rides on Christmas day and the day after in 52F plus degrees. After living in CT, NJ and PA, I'll NEVER go back!!

I've been riding just about every day here in CT. Just got back from the latest at about 50 F. Will be cooler this week, but still fine with windshield & heated grips!

67 degrees in Virginia Beach plus we were fortunate and avoided the rain. Finally got the bike out on some great rural roads in southern VB and Chesapeake down into NC around the Dismal Swamp. This was the first time I had a chance to really ride since I got the bike last month. Very impressed with how it handles. Unfortunately, I didn't hook up with my buddy who recently purchased a beautiful 2001 R1200C.

Wow 67-only what I could dream about up here. I also don't have the hutzba as Icarlson does to ride in his CT weather. High this week will be 26, I'll be taking the BMW with a cage. :-)

I got a good ride in Friday after Christmas. It was 52 and sunny, and fabulous.
I believe its my last for awhile.

I commute 50miles each way to work at Battlefield Harley Davidson in Gettysburg, Pa almost everyday, I have driven a car 5 times this winter so far. 2 fleece layers, a pullover nylon golf windbreaker (it is slippery on the outside to make getting into the R3 easier and blocks wind) and a R3 Roadcrafter suit, thinking of getting a heated jacket, doing a little research now. Just ride there!

Re: Winter Ride-Yea Baby!
I got out today since it was over 50 all day here in Colorado. It was very nice to get in some two wheel time. Also nice to find out that I put everything back together after a major maintenance and upgrade tear down. On the list were transmission seals, greased splines, a clutch hub spacer I fabbed myself, new fuel hoses and quick disconnects, valve adjustment and probably some other stuff I am forgetting. Best of all was the AF-XiED. It is a huge improvement over stock and worth every penny. Just do it.

Re: Winter Ride-Yea Baby!
My ride today was an errand to the UPS shipping depot at 3PM. On the road the F800ST's LCD said 62.3F. The bike seems to be more responsive in the cold weather, or it is just the performance contrast to the car and truck I've been driving. Right now at 9PM it has cooled off to 46F, still warm enough to make another short trip . . . right now. Fleeing the state of Pennsylvania was the best thing we did for retirement. We'll NEVER go back!!

Northeast. Pennsylvania. No riding for awhile-ugh...
Re: Winter Ride-Yea Baby!
Well, here in SW Connecticut we a dodged a bullet on the recent blizzard -- only 5 - 6 inches. But now we're all iced up and temps are headed down to 0 F. Bummer, looks like the bikes are in for their long winter's nap.

Yes. It's painful to go into the garage and just stare at the bike and know due to cold and ice, there is nothing to do-for now...
Re: Winter Ride-Yea Baby!

And return to THIS?!?!?! 9" of snow and 12 degrees. LAME!
