Running lights stopped working

Post by 6216 »

Last Wednesday I went over to a friends house, when I went out later to start the bike, the left/front running light did not work. Turn signals were fine. I checked the bulb and the filament was broken. I replaced the bulb, and now all the running lights don't work. ? Any suggestions to keep this out of the shop would be most helpful. Thanks.

Not sure which running light you are referring to? The R1150R factory configuration for lighting is a city light (small bulb in headlight), Low Beam (on when running) taillight (always on). The turn signals are not lit as running lights, does your bike have an aftermarket turn signal cancel add-on? if so most likely the cause of the failure.

Thank you.
I bought it used from a dealership, and it was a mechanics bike. It has had running lights working since last week. I found out I am blowing the 2nd 4amp fuse in the box, so there must be a short.

You are correct. I bought this bike from a dealer and it was one of their mechanics bike. He frazzled it.
I am blowing the #2 4amp fuse as soon as I turn the key on, or the light switch. ???????
