BMW R1150R voted in at No.2 Streetbike inthe UK

Post by jonothan »

Ride Magazine's reader poll (Rider Power Awards 2005) has listed the BMW R1150R as No.2 Streetbike in the UK. Beaten only by the Aprilia Tuono.

But it's a pleasing result and it's good to see how well BMW have done in the other categories, particulary with the R1150GS Adventure, R1200GS and K1200S.

That's interesting because I thought that the Brits love the faired sport bikes.
Cogito Ergo Vroom - I think therefore I ride.

That's true, they do. At any bike meet, by far the most common bike is the faired race-rep, usually Japanese, but with the occasional Aprilia or Ducati thrown in.

The category in which the R1150R came second was the Roadster category. BMW trounced the opposition in the Large Trailie category as well, and did well in many of the other categories.
