Some impressions for those who may be interested....
As I had expected, the bike is noticeably smoother now, throughout the entire rpm range.
From a stop, it seems like nothing to get to 5k now, the engine just purrs along. It has taken some getting used to, because now I look at the tach and say hmmm...time to shift up!
This is esp true at the 5>6 gear. Used to get the customary 'it's time to shift' buzz in the bars at around 4k in 5th. Now I can leave it there till almost 5k and it hums sweet as can be....
No buzz at all in the bars in 6th past 3500, just a comforting, almost undetectable hum in the pegs all the way up to almost 5k.
My tach-to-speedo benchmarks seem to be slightly less than before, same speed seems to require less rpm and vice versa...could I have picked up some loose torque somewhere???
The sound is hardly louder, I think. I wear earplugs so I did not do the mod for the sound. I definitely like the new 'wwaaaahhhhh' sound better, tho.
I have lost the heat that used to bake my ankles and tranny! Can't feel a thing, even when wearing flip-flops...(JUST KIDDING! )
I used to long for Nomex socks sometime...no more!
I'm still averaging right around 47mpg, same as before.
The only neg to this whole thing is now I have a very noticeable metallic resonance that the box makes, mostly on acceleration away from a stop and at steady throttle below ~3800. I'm not sure if it annoys me yet...
