POLL: What Tire Would You Pick?
Just wondering...
If you were going to put a brand new set of rubber on your R-1150-R, front & rear, and wanted the best all-around tire, what would you pick?
Let's not let price be a guideline here, but instead which tire, regardless of price, would you pick for the best mix of dry/wet grip and mileage. Any thoughts, opinions, etc. you can add would be helpful, too!
Thanks!

Well my vote is cast (for the Conti's) but as we live thousands of miles apart on different continents, have different size engines, different expectations and even spell the word differently--------
I hope you find just what you're looking for though,
Best wishes Simon.

I like the Z6's a lot. Heck, when the rear lasts more than 14k miles for me, I have little reason to get something else. I'm still of the opinion that the MEZ4's had better feel at the edge of aggressive riding, the Z6 mileage performance makes it the choice for me.

I voted for the Z6's, since that's really all I've had on this bike since the OEM Dunlops wore out. I seem to get around 12k miles on the front and 7~8k on the rear. I wouldn't mind trying the Pirelli or Avon next so I may be changing. The problem is they don't wear out at the same time.

Have you used the Michelin Pilot Powers on the street?
They came on my Speed Triple and I like 'em...a lot! And figured they wouldn't last long.
I have only 1500 mi. on them now, unfortunately mostly straight up & down and no wear showing yet. Of course, you know I've been *very easy* on them! Right...
Someone told me they are dual coumpund but I haven't researched them...are the Pilot Roads dual compound as well? It's good to hear they work nearly as well.
Theses are the first Michelins I've had in a long time.
Only bad thing about the Powers is they stick so well I haven't had the balls to spin 'em up in corners yet. When they stick that well you have to use too much power to "flat track" them.
Sure would hate to throw "Hoochie Mama" in the ditch!

I have an interest in this thread as I will be in the market for a new set for my RT. I had the Pilot Roads on the R before i sold her and liked them well. The dealer here can supply the Pilot Roads or the Avon's which he is pushing more. While not in the poll, I seem to remember some here that liked them. Avon Azaro's I think. Comments?
