The key to calming this tempest, it seems to me, is for everyone to heed Doug's request that we "just post correctly," and for Doug to restate more clearly what the rules are.

Doug, there is good faith confusion over what is permissible to post in the R1150R forum. Dallara's post about a Honda was adjudged to be posted in the wrong place, despite being "motorcycle based." That was confusing, and the confusion still abounds.

Your recent messages clarifying your intent are scattered in several different postings, and as a result there is still some doubt about what you will permit to be posted in the main R1150R forum and what should be relegated to Off-Topic and Pat's Place. A simple restatement of the posting rules in one place would end the confusion and thereby resolve the controversy. A suggestion: write and post a proposed restatement of the topics permitted under each forum and ask for comment from all members, not to seek their approval but to resolve any remaining uncertainty about where different topics should be posted. Alternatively, write a proposed restatement of the rules and send it to just a few members for comment. Either way, the end result will be the greater clarity we all seek.

I guess I am also one of the ones puzzled by all the fuss. Dave - I hope you stick around and Dallara too. I truly enjoy this forum and all the different types of people who post here, even the ones I disagree with! I just don't see what has been done to ruffle so many feathers!

I ain't going nowhere. Hope everyone else sticks around too.
