At the San Jose M/C show Dec. 16,17 & 18, next you will see the new K1200GT and the R1200GS ADV, don't know about the R1200S yet or the F800's.

Guess I gotta go,
but if they don't have the F800ST for me to sit on..... I'll be disappointed.
(My next bike donta know)
I can only hope that they have a good showing of vendors too; last year's sucked. No clearances, few sales, heck.... even the SOS was lacking!
Given the variety of new bikes out there, one can hope for a good show.
The operational term here is, "hope"........

I'll be attending the Long Beach show on the 9th & 10th, I'll post a teaser for you northerners. I looked at the floor plan on the show website and it looked like lots more vender booths than last year. Maybe they just don't rent all the spaces. Also buy your $13 ticket on line so you don't have to stand in 2 lines.

I was at the Long Beach show. No apparal trailer that I saw.
Only new bike was the K1200GT. They did say they hoped to have the GSA at the No. Cali show. They did have a HP 1200 dirtbike (what are they called?) to sit on. Was very cool looking. Weren't sure the R1200S would be at any US shows. No T models.
Ducati has the new Supermoto concept bike, as well as the Paul Smart bike & I think others at the show. Ducati was a better show than BMW, IMHO.
MV Agusta had the 910 Brutale, of course I've seen them on the street. They have very cool 50MM upside down forks that look very, very sturdy.
Not much else, couldn't find KTM, & I noticed the Harly floor area seemed the least crowded compared to Honda, BMW & Ducati in particular. Is this a trend?????

I also noticed the harley section was kinda sparce, I saw lots of hd riders mullling around the jap cruisers, several were checking the paint quality as compaired to hd, I gagged. I liked the new Yamaha FZ1 and suprisingly the yellow Buell Ulysis?? The Ducati Multistrada is also on my short list along with the Tuono.
I plan to arrive in San Jose Wed at noon
. I do know that SJBMW plans to have a large booth with lots of BMW apparel. Chris will have among other things his supercharged, intercooled with hand made frame oilhead Boxer bike there. For sure as of this posting, the new K1200GT will be there and we are hoping for the R1200GS ADV.

I went to the Long Beach one and the only new bike featured was the K1200GT. No R1200S or F800 (we won't be seeing them any time soon). They had a German fellow there who is an engineer from BMW. His name is Peter and he is a fountain of knowledge.
I asked what's the deal with the F800 since that it's too conventional to be a BMW (forks, belt drive, etc) and he said that it's quite of a sporty package, and that it's faster to ride than the old R1100S. And he said that the R1200S will surpass a lot of expectations. I don't know...I expect a lot!
He didn't like my comments on the R1200S's ghastly color schemes (two-tone red and something).
