BTW, anyone live near East Whittering (Right on the water, 1hr south of london, roughly)? Thats where my mom grew up - she lived on Shore road if memory serves.. last house down on the left - the one with the big wall, across from the Shore hotel (which they used to run).

It's not a fear thing - I'd jump on a bike at the drop of a hat, it's just pressure from all other areas, Riceburner. I reckon I have a good chance of negotiating my way back onto 2 wheels when the winter turns to spring and we've got less ice, rain and dark windy nights. It sounds pathetic, I know, but everyone around me is saying I've had my warning etc and that I should back off riding. Once bitten though, I don't think you can ever get it out of your system, so I'll be back in the future. Until then, Adios, and I'll enjoy the posts on this forum, even more!

My chain came off the rear sprocket this morning just before entering the Blackwall Tunnel - bloody thing.
Luckily I did not come off the bike.

Can't wait to get my mitts on my new Rockster and dump the old bike!
No more chains, wheel alignment, Scottoiler and crap!

I hear what you're saying - but stick to your guns. If you were riding when you met your wife (don't know if you were) - then riding is part of what makes YOU, to deny that is like saying you have different coloured hair. That's my point.

More like 2 hours in the overcrowded south of England. But yes its down there on the south coast. I've sailed past but nobody waved so I guess your mum was out

Yes - I am a customer of Prestige of BexleyHeath - got a cracking deal from them - prereg Orange Rockster with 1 mile on the clock (the one at Hein Gericke Welling, still in the shop window though), ABS, heated grips ...

The bike with the chain is not a BMW though - a 125 Yamaha - not a bad runabout, but the chain seems has seized - despite the fact that I have a Scottoiler!

You would not have seen me - I was below the last flyover before the tunnel when it happened!

I am proud to present the new addition to the London Rocksters.

The baby came to this world on 07/01/2006 (more likely like the end of 2003). It is of the Tiger Stripe breed and has ABS and heated grips.

It has covered the first 113 miles of it's life in a short trip to Hemel Hempstead to get a Datatool System 4 alarm fitted.

On another note I would like to recommend "Safe and Sound" motorcycle alarm company to anyone with BMW - expert and very courteous service.

Bad news today; RB's had an off. He's apparently got a broken hand and they're checking his pelvis.

Basically, I understand he went down taking evasive action due to another accident ahead but the details are sketchy right now. A car spun and he tried to not hit it - albeit unsuccessfully

Centrepunched a SWB LandRover who spun in front of me because he was cut-up by an estate car and forced to brake too hard.

Heard today that its hard to move about, (front wheel buckled, telelever fecked), so it's highly likely to be another write off.

Damage to me is a fractured metacarpal (bone in right hand), and lots of sore and bruised muscles in various places, mostly between my legs though.

Not sure what to get to replace it, a train ticket for starters I supose.

Just been looking at getting a datatool fitted to my roadster. How's the battery holding up?

BTW it's not just rocks that are rare. I've only ever seen one roadster up in Yorkshire and that was on my way back from my MOT on the first day I rode mine!

The battery is doing very well.
I ride it every working day for short 2 X 8 miles.
Which is not good for the battery - but never fails to start!
And I do not have battery conditioner - there is no electricity in the garage I rent.

My daily trip is only a couple of miles further. Battery never feels to have much power but it fires OK. Just slow to turn over in comparison to an inline 4, but I suppose that's to be expected with those two big slugs to push around.
