My turn to point out another wacky bug in their web site. These silly Italians tell you to check the status in http://www.getmetzeler.com/status.html, while they mean http://www.getpirelli.com/status.html (Hey, I'm half Italian, I can talk abouta these things).

Note: edited to remove the period after html.

Never mind my last post! In the two hours since I posted it, they apparently processed my claim. They have charged my credit card the $25 for shipping and will be sending me a tracking number for the tire!

Pirelli Offer Snafu

Post by marecycling »

I have been on the Pirelli website to partake in their free front tire offer and it has been a real pain in the ass. First off I have an alternate shipping address. When I see that it is muffed on the form I make the mistake of going back to check the previous page, and I get locked out, no copy to mail. So I call Pirelli, after many hours of poo, I finally get the OK to mail in the receipt I have. I just got done looking on web page of offer, no F------ address. Could someone please provide me with the address thatI need to mail in the paperwork for the tire offer. Thank you!

I tried checking my status using the link that Arbreacames posted and it didn't work.

So...to check your status..

Go to http://www.getpirelli.com/

Click the button at the lower right side of the page that says Click for full details and order form --- this will take you to a new page.

At the top right of the new page, you see another link/button that says Consumer Claim Status --- click this link and it will take you to a login page where you can enter the email address and password you created when you registered for the front tire. This will bring up your status.

BTW, my rear tire is supposed to be delivered from Motorcycle SS on the 14 Mar. Good thing as I picked up a nail and have been nursing a slow leak for a couple of weeks. Not too worried about the front, as I have plenty of life left on the OE Bridgestone.

Waiting for the front tire reminds me of when I was a kid and sent away for some kind of gee wiz toy from the back of a cereal box. Usually took 2-years to arrive. I hope Mr. Pirelli is a little more responsive than Tony the Tiger.

Just checked the status page and it appears Pirelli received my registration and proof of purchase paperwork in the mail. They have assigned a "claim number" and charged my credit card the $25 shipping charge. Now we'll see how long it takes to ship (I'll get an email with tracking number).

BTW - FedEx dropped off the back tire from Motorcycle Superstore today.

Marcus,
Many thanks for posting this link to the Pirelli promotional offer on the Diablo Stradas. I ordered mine last night from Motorcycle USA Superstore last night and sent in the Promotional offer to Pirelli.

Apostle,
I appreciated your instructions when filling out Pirelli's offer form. Everything worked exactly as you said. In addition, in spite of the fact that Motorcycle Superstore has a free shipping offer going, the use of the promotional code gave me $5 more dollars off which covered the "handling" charge. I'll have the two tires delivered to the door for $140.99. I was looking to pay at least $220 for the Z6's from SW Moto. It's a smoking deal ! I can now buy the tires + the Marc Parnes balancing tool for little more then the tires alone.

I too must echo these accolades! :D

I was going to go to Metz880s in about 1000mi, but after following this thread for about a week, I ordered my Pirelli rear tire from MotoSuperStore and registred on the Pirelli site this past Sat.
MotoSS shipped the tire yesterday, and Pirelli has already verified my POP and charged me for shipping for the free front.
Such a deal..... :D

And with DJ's unabashed recomendation of the Pirellis, I think I'm good to go....

Thanks, guys.....!

Thanks everyone for the tips. I just ordered mine. I was going to need them within 1000 miles. Now, if it would just stop snowing!

So, on the offer should I assume that they know what size I need based on the model of bike? There was nowhere to put in the desired size. Anyway, looking forward to puttin' on the new shoes and getting in some miles.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered the rear. Started the claim for the front. I guess they can't go bad within a year, and I expect to have them on the bike around early fall.

queenpdog,

The offer gets you the 120/70 - 17 sized front regardless of bike model.

Bought tire today and logged/mailed claim...works like a charm if you follow the recommendations on this thread. Dont forget the promotional code when ordering the back tire...provides discount on shipping!

This site and board are frickin' awesome! Thanks to all...

free pirelli

Post by rpd1 »

I have a question for anyone that can help.

What did you use as a proof of purchase when you ordered from the motorcycle superstore? Can you send Pirelli your order confirmation or did you wait to recieve the tire and send the actual invoice?

Thanks,

Ryan

According to Pirelli's website, the order confirmation should be enough. So that's what I sent.

Parts unlimited dealer

Post by Airman »

Just to reassure those of you unsure about the Parts Unimited dealer provision on the Pirelli offer.... My rear tire arrived from Motorcycle- Superstore.com this morning and the tire had "Parts Unlimited" tape wrapped around it just like you see down at your local MC shop. Now that I think about it, ALL the tires I've seen had that tape on them. The Pirelli end of the deal hasn't come through yet, but I'm a long way from GA or wherever the Pirelli HQ is. Mail is slow I guess.
The Strada is a good looking tire.

Pirelli told me that any tire you buy from a legitimate dealer in the US comes from Parts Unlimited. They are the US distributor. Just don't buy from Ebay or a second hand source and you're fine as far as the Pirelli offer is concerned.

front tire arrived!

Post by wncbmw »

My front arrived today. About a three-week turnaround from mailing info to receipt of the front tire. They were supposed to email me a tracking number when it shipped but I don't care, it's here!

New shoes for the baby in the basement ready for the final demise of my current ones. Shouldn't be too long either!

And taosports is correct. Any Pirelli dealer in the US is a Parts Unlimited dealer, according to my local shop.

just got the front

Post by joel »

Front tire just arrived! I love the smell of new tires. Only took Pirelli 17 days to get the front shipped out. Thanks again Marcus!
