Windshield Subject Revisited

It's still cold here...so the new windscreen comes in as a necissary evil...but has anyone found anything new out there over the winter...I've seen the wunderlich, the parabellum, and I have the BMW one...but as one of you so well put...they all look like they should be on Snowmobiles...(and there are lots of those around here to compare them to!)

I'm tempted to try the "GS Adaptation"...anything else?

(all you need is a visor, 2 aluminium touch panels (as seen on fire doors in buildings), a few nuts and bolts and some mechanical nouse.

That looks cool...and I do believe I could use the windsheild mounts that come with the windscreen...at first glance, they seem to be roughly the same position as the ones you've built there. Now I must go out and find a visor to play with...I'll let you know how it goes!

I've decided to go for a screen now as I do more of my miles on the highway as my commute to work is shortened by 50% this way. It's also the majority of my riding too.

From what I've seen, if you're prepared to pay, Wunderlich looks the nicest.... now I'm asking my guy how much and am prepared for eye-bleeding costs

Have a look at the Z-Technik screen. There is a long thread about Rockster screens on the Rockster page, with pictures.

Here's some words I posted about the Z-Technik, but the thread I am refering to has a lot more data:

I've just fitted a standard GS screen to my Rock. I sprayed the inside of the screen with black Hammerite and fabricated a couple of brackets to lay over the existing ones. The brackets are still in the testing stage so look a bit rough ( no pics until I'm totally happy) but I'm OK with the overall look and feel.

Hey Rockies Rider; I recently installed a Wunderlich sports windscreen on my Rock and I couldn't be happier - I think it actually enhances the look of the bike IMHO

. I dont think the pic's do it justice. I'm now commuting to work and took a ride out to Banff yesterday on the 1A (lots of twisties) and the screen kept me from freezing my butt off. It was 0C (32F) when I left for work this AM - no problem with cold (with a little help fom joe rocket). Anyway, at highway speeds, you might want to think twice about geting a smaller screen - the Wunderlich is about as small as I would go in this climate.

Hi x-cruiser...

Here's a good test...next time you're out here, check in with me, we'll put 'em side by side, take pics, and then I can keep obsessing over which looks better...or we can send out the pics for votes!

Looks aside, mine keeps the cold off no problem, and ear plugs keep the noise bearable...

How was the gravel on the 1A?...I've only been as far as Exshaw in that direction this spring...but am seriously considering a ride to Radium this weekend if the weather holds...snowfall warning here tonight..

my dealer just recommended the Rockster Trimm from Wunderlich

I'll be having mine fitted in 3 weeks
