just installed this on Givi windscreen

Post by LonestaRR »

I just installed this product on my Givi 750 windscreen. I took the bike out for a few minutes to see if it lived up to it's name, and I do believe it does. It did lift the wind that use to hit the top of my helmet. And it did seem that the ride was quieter. I think it's worth the $12.90/ft. It is certainly worth a try before spending a bunch more on a different windscreen or one of the wing tips they offer.

I've used that stuff on several different windshields on several different bikes. I've found it to be only marginally effective, if at all. But that's just me, YMMV. If you're looking for a dramtic difference you'll not likely find it.

This stuff has been talked up quite a bit on numerous other forums I frequent, and my opinion seems to be the consensus. But Hey, if it works for you, Great! I've currently got some (glued!) on the top edge of Saeng's Wing Tip on my Givi fairing. I think it helps just a bit.
You can see it here:

Right. And I think even on their website they rate it as moderate for reducing wind and nosie. My screen is a bit different than yours, and I wasn't needing a dramatic change - just about 2 inches worth right at the top of my helmet. I still think it is $13.00 worth of a change. Maybe not a $200.00 worth of a change or not even a $75.00 change.

I was a little apprehensive about how it would look too, but after installed I think I like it better with it on. It kind of brings out the edging on the screen around the headlamp.

Ain't it great? This bike, I mean. I've owned mine for just over three years now, approaching 30,000 miles, and I'm still not done customizing it, there's always something else I want to do to it to fine-tune something or personalize it. It seems that with each passing day I appreciate more and more just how much customization can be done to this bike. And there's a healthy aftermarket out there supporting us.

To each his (or her) own! Make it fit, make it yours ...

Priapismic, how much difference did the wing tip make? I'm thinking of getting one for my 380mm BMW touring windscreen. I need about 2 or 3" of wind lift to get my lid out wind range.
