Have you ever wanted to change your bike for something else?
Like for my self, each time I look at the Triumph Speed Triple, or The Yamaha FZ1 naked, or the K1200R, I just want to change my bike for one of them.
BUt then I take a good look of My Rockster, and Damn (pardon my french) it a nice bike. Can't sell this bike !!! No other bike has this look. It is very clean cut and very streetfichter classis mean lock....like a bulldog
Anyway, just wanted to know if I'm the only one on this earth that is like this.
I think it would be nice to have a set of bike for different moods.
A zzr1100 or R1 for out & out mad
A GS for mud plugging
A cruiser for posing down the pub
etc etc
As I have more bikes than garage space already the Bike I ride has to be a compromise the best feel and ride and look for my purpose. For me, at this time its the Rock
I wholeheartedly agree... a different bike for a different mood. Or situation. My R12C is my fave, do-all street bike. Goes the distance in comfort and easy to ride around town. The Rock is for anticipating more forays into the twisties, with a bit more go-juice than the Cruiser. The Hawk is my little tinker-toy (underpowered, but tossing around a nimble handling sub-400# bike is kinda fun). What's left is finding a dirt/duo machine that I can comfortably straddle (being inseam challenged).
Sure, I've lusted at some of the Italian jobbies, but they're probably as high-maintenance as that supermodel wannabe you're looking forward to shag.

hmmmm - ducati monster - for the looks, sound and the name. if ducati had a better reputation for electrics and engine builds i'd go and get me one. probably one of the bigger ones - maybe the 916 engined jobbie.

There are too many temptations out there - and year on year it seems to get worse (better?)
How many times do we say if only.....................I had a bigger garage, a bigger wallet, a more understanding wife etc....
I have flirted with many of these ideas, indeed have put my money where my mouth is...........but I have reached an age where the boxer just seems to fit me and the Rockster seems to be a high point ......in the series - though I do still like singles, oh, and V twins, possibly even a triple and fours can make a nice sound....always fancied a six!

There's no rhyme or reason; just personal emotional appeal. Especially since I have not ridden any of these bikes. Being inseam and pocketbook challenged, I'm not likely to have that opportunity either.

Popped into my local dealer the other day and had a good look at the speed triple - not so sure about it in the flesh - the build definaltey looks a bit off, in fact I had a good look at all the Triumphs and I feel the same about the whole range.
BUT, what about the K1200R, looks just super in the flesh.........I like it, I like it..............even like the look of the R1200RT and I don't care for fairings, it's just that when you look closely at these bikes it seems as though the Germans engineer in 3D, they are so well intergrated in their design. They do definately think outside the box...........all the others, despite their sexy curves, are predictable in their concept and excecution which to me means boring.
