Texas Hill Country Ride (LONG REPORT/pics - I'm sorry)

Great pics & ride report. Thanks!
Kristi, you'll have to compare notes with my wife Sillyjax - like you she began her 1st moto-roadtrip last year (during her 1st year riding) with loaded cases and heavy bike for the very first time.
We're talking (and it's just talk right now) about riding from Oregon to Texas for our 2007 road trip. The couple we ride with have friends in Houston, and now we have some good tips for good roads in your area!

'roos in Texas
Great post, Krisi! Makes me miss living in Texas (not that I want to give up Colorado just yet).
I think 'roos have been in Texas for some time. I went to college in Texas at a small private school, Austin College (in Sherman). It was established in 1849 and our mascot was - you guessed it - the kangaroo.
I will be leaving on my longest ride yet (10 days) and hope that I can take as many outstanding photos as you have done.
