I am happy to say that after a two week lurking run, I am now a proud owner of a 2005 R1150R Rockester (Lime/Black)
I am in love and am now devising a scheme so I don't ever have to go to the office and ride until the tires fall off. ... well.....we will see about that.....
I do have a few questions and would really appreciate your help....
1. The seller didn't have owners manual. I am despertely searching for one either printed or electornic. Anyone? Please...... Also a service manual would be great. Found one and it was a corrupted pdf so nothing came out of it.
2. The bike has about 1400 miles on it and I have "sounds" question. Might be stupid, but I am a pretty fresh rider so don't flame me too much if it is something obvious...... The engine is butter smooth, but when it is in gear and going, there is kind of a high frequency ticking or clicking sounds...(that is a technical term of course). Is that normal sounds of the transmission or is that something I should have taken care of while it is under warranty?
Thank you so much ahead of time to all that may be able to help me.....
Jiri

Sorry, can't help you on the manual. But the ticking you are hearing is probably normal. The boxer twin makes all sorts of wonderful mechanical music. Being an air cooled engine and by the virtue of the opposed cylinders, your ears have a direct path to the noises of the valve train. On other bikes with diferent engine designs/layouts the sounds from the "upper" parts of the engine are blocked by the fuel tank. Water cooled engines are also enclosed with the water "jacket" that keeps the valve noises at bay.
If you are concerned, try to find another boxer rider close to you or take it by a dealer for a quick listen. It sounds as if you are just hearing the valves do their thing.
Congrats on the bike. I'm kinda new around here myself. The Rokster is a fantastic "do it all" type of bike.

Actually, I do have a pdf file of the basic owners/maintenance manual. It should be of some help to you. I forgot that I had copied it to my computer here at the office. PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.
Later,
Chris

Manuals
PM Sent. Thank you. I did see few posts here about the service manual, so maybe someone else has that. But the basic manual is the most important....especially for stupid little things like tire pressure....etc.etc.
Congrats on your new ride!

i'm a noob here too. just shy of 1000 miles on an 04 rockster that'd been sitting on a lot for a year and a half...
the one big thing i've discovered so far is if you've done much sportbike riding in the past, the peg feelers and cylinder heads find the ground rather rapidly, especially on the right side.
before you even scuff the tires. new thing for me, heh. my last bike was a 99 sv650 (put about 18k on that) and that was a lean machine, but you have to body steer a lot more on the rockster than the sv it seems.
i only found the peg feelers on the sv once,. but on the rockster i've already 'found' them several times, to the extent that i think i might buy a new pair of peg feelers.
hope you're enjoying your new ride. i sure am!
