shock settings
At 200lb how would you setup you shocks for solo riding? I currently have them set fully to soft. I have the spring preload set to STD. Please advise

I'm about 200 lbs with my gear on, and have a Givi screen, which takes some of the load off the front. I've tried quite a few settings, particularly since riding a 1200 ST and GS, and have found two favourite settings - max preload for sharp'ish steering, and backing off 4/5 clicks for a trundle up the motorway.
I tried playing with the damping too. Maximum (H) damping front and rear felt too vague, so I have backed off 3 half-turns front and rear, which is about the mid-point, and that seems OK.
I read somewhere that you can sharpen the steering by using a longer rear tie-bar (raising the rear end), but I'd personally think twice as it will alter trail/castor angle.

Midpoint on the dampening should be close, plus or minus, unless you are very light or very heavy.
Like DJ, I ran the pre-load to max, then backed if off a few turns.
I have an Ohlin on the rear and did some experimenting before getting it where I wanted it. But the result is very satisfying, expecially on a twisty, rough road.
