Help! How to remove 02 sensor

Post by Panzerleder »

Hello all you experts -

I'm trying to install a Staintune collector and Supertrapp muffler in place of the stock exhaust on the R1150R ... but how do you remove the oxygen sensor? Does it screw in, or plug in, or what? To remove it, do you have to disconnect it from the wiring harness?

I know many of you have done this, and it must be easy because I've searched the boards and don't find any reference to what's involved in removing it.

Thanks for the help!

It screws in (pretty similar to a sparkplug)

Just unclip some of the cable to gain some slack then drop the existing collector. With a combination of letting the cable twist slightly then spinning the collector you can free it without too much trouble.

I assume the new collector has a socket for the sensor, in which case put a few twists in the cable then screw in place.
