Battery Tender Plus + Odyssey Battery a No-No?
Is this a bad combo? For the life of me, I can't find a straight answer to this question on either the Deltran or Odyssey sites. I seem to remember this topis coming up here before, but I couldn't find the thread.

The user manual with my Odyssey PC680 states that a 3 amp trickle charger may be used if the battery is in long-term storage or subject to parasitic draining, which is the case with our bike because of the clock. If I recall correctly the Battery Tender Plus only puts out 1.25 amps. That said, it may be fine to use it, I don't know. Just putting this out there as food for thought.

There may be a difference of opinion:
Deltran (Battery Tender):
The chart at the bottom of this page shows the Battery Tender Plus has a 4 step charging program suitable for standard, AGM, and gel batteries:
Odyssey batteries are AGM lead-acid battieries.

The Odyssey site says for best results the PC680 needs a 6-7 amp charger (Battery Tender = 1.25 amp)

A year or two ago a message was posted on the Odyssey site specifically not recommending Battery Tenders.
.....anyone else remember this??? or am I hallucinating?....again.
In short, Arbreacames has the right answer.

That's basically correct. As I recall, my Odyssey came with a note to the effect that if it ever got "severely discharged" you would need a high-powered, or automotive charger to bring it back up to speed. The Battery tender is a trickle charger intended only to keep batteries fully charged.
