Well I just picked up an 05 Bronze BMW Rockster today with 1,112 miles on
it. It it the best bike I have ever ridden. I had a 05 Honda 600RR an a 06 1000RR Honda. They were way to uncomfortable to ride for long periods of time and I did not feel as safe as I do on this BMW. I just need to plan a road trip soon and im good to go. I paid $7999 for it plus tax what do you guys think of that good? bad?. Well I just wanted to say hello and I live in Memphis Tn. and hope to meet some new fellow riders soon.
I really dont think any no ABS, no side bage, no heated hand grips. So I guess it is just base. I really dont know what other options they come with other than those. I still love it though I cant take my eyes off it.
Consider that it doesn't have ABS & heated grips, I think that the price is slightly high. But the bike is practically brand new, so maybe it isn't that bad of a deal. Enjoy and ride the piss out of it. It may be powered by an air-cooled big twin, but it still loves to rev and it will rev to red line in 6th gear.
Do yourself a favor and ditch the factory shocks as soon as you can and get some Ohlins. Your bike will thank you and YOU will thank you. Also do the same to the catalytic converter and the exhaust can. You won't believe how much weight that action will save you (it's like 40-lbs for the cat and factory can).

If you change the shocks will that change the height of the bike?
I'm on the short side and it would be awesome if I could lower my bike an inch or two, and shave a few pounds. and how does that change the characteristics of the bikes handling?????

I don't know if the Ohlins will change the ride height or not yet. Mine is still waiting to be worked on. The Ohlins front shock does allow for height adjustment, but not in the way you think though. The front shock height change is very minimal and designed to change steering response; quicker and less stable or slower and more stable.
Get the BMW factory lower seat if you want to drop the seat an inch or so. For riding around, I prefer the lower seat because I'm short too. But for sport riding, I prefer the taller seat so that it makes me lean forward more and put more weight on the front tire not to mention making it easier to lean my body to the sides and change the center of gravity for easier cornering.
As far as how will it ride with the Ohlins, once again I can't tell until I get the bike back, but if these Ohlins are anything like the Ohlins that go on my other bikes...it's sweet!!! The dampening effects are better governed so that your shocks don't feel all jerky. At extreme lean angles, the tires stay planted to the ground instead of wobbling. It lasts a lot longer than the stock shocks and when they go, you can have them rebuilt for cheap.

Yeah! I already have the lower seat from BMW and it helps but I'm still tiptoeing it, and besides the BMW seats SUCK for long rides, HELL even for short rides I feel like I'm sitting on the family jewels the whole way! and if you break hard FORGET ABOUT IT!!!
My 2004 Cola Rockster will be here tomorrow and I have been waiting for three weeks for it. I have EVERYTHING, equipment, sargeant seats, LED extra brake light, etc. etc. etc.
I did not however get new shocks? Where is the best place to buy them online and how difficult are they to change?
