[quote="triggerfish"]When you're pushing 50 and feel you have arrived, then you deserve a BMW beakster.
" triggerfish " try pushing 60 and feeling like an 18yr old
now where can i get old of one
you are as old as the bike makes you feel
(long live the R)
"DO the miles get the smiles" ? so many roads so little time. (silver is the fastest ok)

I am riding Yamaha FZS600 now and want to buy R1150R. Once I rode my friend's R1150RS, but it was too heavy and accelerated very slowly comparing with my fazer. I never experienced R1150R, but design attracts me a lot.
Comparing wiht Janpan's motorcycles, roadstar is heavy, expensive and it has low power. But why so many people love it?
Can you explain me the advantage and disadvantage of roadstar?
I never expected these huge great answers. I can feel how much you love your bike and I finally decided to buy black R1150R next week. If I get it, I will upload some pictures. Thank you a lot for your kind advices.

You will find that there are many bikes that do things better than the Roadster, such as top speed, acceleration, touring, etc, but you will find none that do everything as will as the Beakster! Truly one of the best all around bikes out there!
Combine those attributes with the quality and durability and you know why we love them.

'02 in black - the real BMW color! (Now gone to a new home)
Vann - Lifer No. 295
Vann - Lifer No. 295
All that's been said PLUS the rarity factor.
I've only ever seen 3 others on the road (including yours Stan!)
Sunday morning was a regular bikefest in the Peak District and not an R among them other than me. Rode a few miles alongside 2 1200GS's but they were the only other beemers I clocked.
Makes me laugh to see guys on sports tackle checking their mirrors to see if that BM is still there!
Even funnier to nip by on the brakes into the corners!!

Enjoy the bike!!

Too bad your dealer ran out of RED! Unfortunately, that is usually the case. But the BLACK R is a good second choice!
