Wow. Crashing sucks but burns ARE the worst injury you can get. Your optimism really will speed the recovery time and reward the dedicated, voluntary support staff you are lucky enough to have. On the other hand . . . If they're poking your wounds to hear you scream, I'd hire someone else.
Fort Collins CO? You're close enough to hear the USA national time standard WWV Atomic Clocks ticking. Or does it just hum?
Daytime TV is crap, but after 8 we never miss The O'Reilly Factor, Bones or House. Here's a powerful little program gem in the form of a calculator that I found to help you cope with conversions:

These videos will also brighten your day:

Reading your words pains us all. Seeing the toasted bike pics hurt us again, but in a different, less important way. Force a bigger smile knowing your bike buddies, 1,336 hits so far - - - ALL OVER THE WORLD - - - share in your losses and hope you recover fast and completely.

Those pics of your beloved beakster are the most sobering pics I've seen in a a while... I've had a couple close calls this week, one today from another motorcyclist who cut me off and another earlier this week with a cager who nearly hit me as I was making a left turn; I was at a red with no opposing traffic (or so I thought) and a woman in the first kitty corner parking spot facing me decided to play drag racer and gun it when the light turned green.
She nearly creamed me, but decided to stop (wasn't she nice?). I needed clean undies after that... Heal fast Munch and ride safe and careful everyone.
We ARE invisible!

Hey All (or Hey Y'all):
Thanks again for your posts. Yes, that balloon is the gas tank. These pics were sent to me so I have not seen her in the "flesh" and have no idea how that gas tank ballooned up. Of course, while good folks were attending to me the bike continued to burn but those at the scene that I have talked to tell me it was a scary sight.
Healing is progressing. Just at the Doc's today and he liked what he saw. The tendon to my big toe has been exposed all this time and just "broke" so I'm in for another surgery for tendon replacement. Oh joy
I've also been fitted for my lovely "pressure garments" which are basically very thick, tight support hose that I have to wear for a year. And it has been getting into the upper 90's here in Fort Collins. Ack. But the support garments do indeed help to smooth out the skin grafts and provide some protection, protection that is lost along with my "original" skin. Sorry to get crude on y'all. Just be thankful that I haven't posted the skin pics
Hoping to get back to work, went out and bought some sandals in 2 times larger size to accomodate the Ace wraps on the foot... and am working hard with the therapist to get back to a normal walking gait. Feels good.
Spend a lot of time gawking at bikes.... as always. My bud who sold me the '04 RR is riding an R1200ST and may sell it to me down the road. I'm one of the few people on the planet, I think, that LIKES the look of the 1200ST
We'll see... gotta get some of these bills paid first.
Thanks, again, for your thoughts and posts. Be careful out there.
