Mirror replacement ........Yeah baby!

Post by zax1150 »

Just replaced my Mirrors with K12RS mirrors bolted straight in........only needs a light dremel on the LH side base for the choke .........

Main result: they look the dogs 'nads / No vibes @ any revs..... :)

Lighter than the originals & wider, I get to see more now

Strangest benefit, is with (yeah yeah I know!) my GS hand guards, I get waaaay less rain/bugs/crap on my gloves , now when it rains
(summer in the UK, go figure!) I don't get soaked gloves 8)

I did the same mod a month ago. And I get no vibration at any RPM or speed. The GS handguards give me a degree of relief that the bees won't sting my hangs, I am acutley alergic.

Just a toss-in for those with 1100's... those mirrors have a different mounting configuration and will not fit R11's.

No need to ask me how I know this...

K12rs mirrors

Post by GJBushman »

I traded K12RS mirrors for my 1150R also, actually, I changed the whole bike. I rode my 2003 1150R for 20K, went to a GS for awhile and then to a K1200RS. The dark side! My wife still rides the Roadster. The mirrors are only a small part of why I love the K12.

I bought my bike used and they were already on. I didn't even know that they were not the stock mirrors until I started visiting this site...
I can tell you that I love them and they are not cheap. I would definetly make this upgrade if they were not already installed!

Did the same mod to my '02. Guards and K mirrors. Also went with some city case lids just for a different look. Can't carry much, but the other lids go back on in about five minutes. Also went with a dark tinted sport (BMW) shield. It all looks cool.
