Price for r1150r

Friend is wanting to sell his 2004 R1150r, and has told me make offer. He has ABS, overdrive options, sargent seat, bags, and ceebailey windshield. Bike is in excellent shape and has 7500 miles, what is a fair offer?

Baseline for an '04 R1150R (stock) is $7000 retail. For system cases, windshield, up to date services, and fresh tires you might add another $500-1000. Most other accessories add no value. (Maybe something for the seat.) Mileage is less a factor unless it exceeds 6000 miles per year.

There are plenty of Oilheads on the market. Buyer rules.

Motorcycle consumer news has a twice a year used bike value list. The July 2007 issue has the Summer 2007 prices.
The major price difference will be ABS brakes The price for a average used 2004 R1150R non ABS is $6580.00. with ABS $8025.00
The otlher asseccories might add 500.00 to 1000.00 I would consider the mileage on the low side as well, which could add more value to the bike, again the price in Motorcycle consumer news is based on average bike both cosmetic and astheically.
Hope this helps. Some may disagree over the value of the ABS, But it does cost more when purchased new.

Start low,($6,000) and work your way up. If he is your friend, you probably will not offend!

It all depends on what your friend will do with the money. If he's sellling it to buy a Harley, I would offer him about $4900. If he's sellling it to buy an orange 2006 KTM 950 Adventure, I would offer him at least $9000.
