With Chips ?

Forgive me if this subject has already been covered, but I would like to hear a few opinions, experiences on the various "chips" that are available on the market (Rhinewest, BBPower, Dynojet etc).

Are they worth it? i.e. power, economy, engine smoothness, ease of fitment etc....etc...

My 1150R is standard except for a Remus collector (no cat) + Evolution can and K&N filter.

I've heard that they are only worth it if you remove the cat as well..So because you have no cat you will notice a bigger difference.

But that difference is not that great (so I've heard)...Mostly a crisper throttle responce..less surging..and maybe a better top end.

If I was to ever remove my cat I would do the chip thing for sure..As long as it doesn't cost too much..Others here will know more about this.

I have the Rhinewest chip and a staintune collector and muffler.

the engine does feel smoother and the throttle feels fuller... I cant say the bike is "faster" and I dont really care for dyno numbers. the bike feels and runs great. no difference on fuel consumption.

is it worth it? the chip was relatively inexpensive (took the dealer one hour to install) and it does increase throttle response. . the Staintune parts were expensive, but I think it defintely looks better than the stock exhaust and collector... and it does sound better too IMHO.
