"City cases"

Post by stogiepuffer »

Hello folks, Yes, I know this subject has been covered in another post. Yesterday I picked up my BMW saddle bags for my bike, mounted them. like them, well made, etc...My question is whether anybody makes either: 1) narrower cases that fit our saddlebag mounts or 2) case lids in the style of the older "city cases" ? I know one person from this forum has done it (no pics of them on his bike though) and apparently you need three translators just to try get them ordered. I do like these bags but a narrower set woud be perfect for commuting and for not making the back of the bike look so bulky. If there aren't any around maybe if BMW sees enough posts about this subject they may considering making some available. Just a thought. :D

I saw a post on another forum showing city lids on an RT. Since that is the same bag.....should work.

I have tried several searches, as I have in the past. Closest I got was a photo of Israel's with Japanese text (which unfortunately I cant read) can you or anyone let us know the specific company who sells the city lids and how to get in touch with them?

Appreciate whatever is available. Not always easy with R12R aftermarket stuff!

Thanks,

Bill

That Dutch site looks promising. I hunted some down through the RT forum but it is a place in France and my French is really rusty. I e-mailed BMW and they replied very quickly but they said they don't have any details on lids yet. The saga continues. :D
