1st post with pics

Post by toolinalong »

School's out.

I finally got some broadband up to my rural location in the Colorado Front Range mountains. So now I have time and the means to post some trip pics.

For starters, here is a map of Colorado. On it I have traced a trip (using yellow, green, and pink highlighting) which I took in 2005 with a friend and his daughter. They flew in from Nashville, TN and rented a GS out of Denver. We spent 8 days on what I consider to be the best paved roads in the state, along with a little bit of northern New Mexico, including an ice cream stop in Taos.

We were not able to cover all the roads I love to ride in this amazing state; the Northwest and Northcentral areas we did not have time for. Those and a few others which I also recommend I highlighted in blue. And there are others, but if I traced them all, there would be very few that were not highlighted.

I intend to post some photos from this trip, along with some other maps and trip pics starting this weekend.

Enjoy.

Excellent!... My daughter lives out in Crestone... been there twice already... still haven't been out there on the bike... :( but I love route 50 along the Arkansas river... have you been on that one yet, east of Salida?

There's some great Mexican food in Alamosa... and I love the green Chili everyone makes out there..

Looking forward to some great ride reports...

"the image has been deleted", says photobucket

Toolin' - the photo is gone!!!!!! The treasured map has disappeared! Can you post it again - and how about those other maps and trip pics? I need some good routes out from Colorado Springs, and if you do any fly fishing - how about some hot spots for that as well???? TIA

Thanks Tooling and Ves. I'll try to travel all of those roads this summer and report back periodically. The map is great!
