Unfortunately, Guardsman Pass is still closed, and I was unable to cross the mountain. This photo is from near the summit just prior to Brighton Ski Resport.

Descending the canyon provides some awesome scenery. I tried to hold the camera low beside the motorcycle to get a sense of movement.

Snowmelt has been heavier this year than in previous years. It has abated somewhat over the last two weeks. It was so strong on my last ride up the canyon that it threatened the roadway in a few locations.

The road has several great curves and one switchback. Here is a view from the top.

And from the bottom.

The weather this weekend has been perfect for riding and there were a multitude of bikes on the road.

I found that riding and snaping pictures is somewhat difficult and probably not the smartest or safest thing I've done lately. The good news is that I managed to keep it rubberside down.

The payoff for this reckless behavior was that I was able to get a few decent photos of the canyon without stopping on a steep 6-7% grade (purely a guess). I'm still working on figuring out the whole photoediting thing. The edits, including rotating and size adjustment for message board posting, didn't seem be applied when I posted them to the board. Someday I'll get it right. Until then ... please rotate your head 90 degrees to the right as necessary and imagine that the picture has 20% more on the right hand side!
Best wishes

Next I'll try riding up/down Little Cottonwood Canyon and try the video feature on this antique 2003 digital camera.
