Brake Squeal

I just pulled the front and rear wheels a couple of weeks ago and had some Conti RA's installed...

After installation, my front brakes are squealing when I come to a stop... more like a intermittent rrr....rrr...rrrrrrrr....

They didn't squeal prior to me pulling the wheels so I figure I must have done somehting wrong....

Recommendations?...

For the basic questions I know 'some' will ask.... 03 R1150R.... 9400 miles.... just changed the oil and tranny fluid..... hmmm.... what else will he ask???

Squeal a lot, or just in the last 5-10 feet before a complete stop? If it is the latter, mine did that for the first 5-10k miles that I had the bike.

Does the wheel spin freely when the bike is on the center stand? If not, it may be a little out of alignment.

Try loosening the caliper bolts to let them "settle" and retighten. If it is just pad squeal, coat the back of the pads with anti squeal compound, available at parts stores.

Thanks Biff, the squeal in the last 10 feet.They do sound they're rubbing just a tad when I spin the front wheel on the center stand... to realign... what do you do?...

I'll try pulling out the pads and doing the anti squeal coating also....

To realign everything up front, loosen the calipers, the bolts at the bottom of the forks, and the axle. Compress the front shock a couple of times and then retighten everything. I don't know if I would mess with treating the pads, since it is extra work.
