AeroFlow screens

Post by challey »

All of us have had bad experiences with vendors; to wit, the recent ranting about Chicago BMW. I'd like to share a story about a completely opposite experience.

I ordered an AeroFlow Sport Fairing last year during their annual sale. The price was good, the order was shipped promptly, everything needed was in the box and the installation instructions were nicely illustrated and clear.

The mounting system easily attached to the bike and the fairing was easily secured to the bracket (both unlike my previous BMW Sport Shield). I was very pleased with the Sport Fairing with one small execption: The mounting bracket started to rust at some of the weld points (I found out later that these were silver solder joints, not weldments). I phoned AeroFlow and told them about the problem and they immediately told me to send the bracket back. This was the height of the riding season however, so I kept putting it off.

The weeks turned into months and soon, nearly a year had gone by. I finally got off my lazy ass and phoned AeroFlow again about a month ago. The person on the other end said she wanted to talk to owner, Paige Ortiz and that someone would phone me back. A day or 2 later, I got a call from Paige who told me that they had had some QA problems with the powder coating on their brackets and that some were not stripped properly before coating. He told me to send the bracket back and he'd have it recoated. Of course, being the incredibly lazy ass I am (see previous) I delayed, only to have Paige give me call a couple of days later to gently "remind" me to send the bracket to him.

The bracket was returned to me this week, looking better than when it was new. Kudos to a good company with great products and even better customer focus.

I can echo this experience. I have a touring fairing on my 1150R. When I ordered it the "Aerogards" were new for this model and were backordered. I mentioned, somehow, that I would be attending the Rally in Spokane that year. Paige told me to look him up at the event, which I did, and he installed the guards himself.
When I first got this bike I tried a National generic shield, then a BMW Touring shield and then, finally the Aeroflow. I would trust the Aeroflow product to work no matter what model bike based on my experience with their products.

+1 for the AeroFlow Screens. =D> =D> =D>
I went from no screen to BMW Sport screen, to BMW touring screen, to "don't remind me screen", to finally AeroFLow Tall Touring screen.
People on the phone were very pleasant to deal with and I also spoke with the owner, I think.
Due to my prior experience with the screens, I was very argumentative about the height of the screen offered by AeroFLow company.
The gentleman on the phone was very patient with me and very convincing. It did sound like the guy actually knew what he was talking about.
I kind off was hesitating to spend that kind of money on the screen, and oh.. boy I am glad I listened.
The screen arrived very quickly and was nicely boxed together with the tank wings and brackets.
I just glanced at the instructions and quickly put the screen UP and was very surprised (on the test ride) with the performance of it.
A few weeks later I decided to attach the WINGS to the gas tank and proceeded without reading the instructions.
Screwed up big time and ended up in the very embarrassing situation. I did swallow my pride and called the AeroFlow company.
A very pleasant voice on the phone assured me that it did happen before to someone else :^o :^o I was willing to pay for my stupidity
but was offered a new set of 3M stickies free of charge. Later on I realized they do cost quite a bit. :D :D :D
Sport Screen, Touring Screen or Tall Touring Screen, AeroFlow is the way to go, if you're really serious about Functional Screens.
