Back cover for OBC. where do i get one?

Post by michaelb1 »

Just bought an 07 R1200R and took off the Vstream windshield.

I noticed the OBC does not have the back cover on it. You can see where the wiring harness plugs right into the back.

Naturally I want to get a new cover so that rain, debris, etc doesn't affect it.

Where do i get this from? Will the dealer charge me an arm and a leg for a small piece of plastic?

Previous owner says it wasn't on the bike when he bought it new.

This is what I am talking about. Should there be a cover? Seems to be in the catalog and BMW site pics.

Just went out in the garage and looked at mine and it does appear you are missing a cover of some sorts.

Call the original dealer. Someone there likely has it thrown in a box of spare parts. Beemer Bone Yard may have one too.

Good luck.

Perhaps one of our comrades who has installed the BMW 'touring' (tongue firmly in cheek) screen and has no intention of removing it (see prior reference to tongue) will be so kind to mail theirs to you... ?
