My Crash,

Post by Zamp »

Image

Coming home from Death Valley, had a little crash. It was on 9 mile road, going up to Kennedy Meadows.. Hit some gravel, went off the road, the bike bucked me off, and landed upside down..
I was OK, and the bike was repaired..
What a ride... r

Jeeze Zamp, I'm kind of impressed with your crash. This kind of picture usually can't be found anywhere but on ADVRider.

I don't get caught in the rain, I ride in it on purpose.

That has to be the most righteous crash shot ever posted on the Roadster board. Well, besides the bike the burnt in the barn.

Show us the machine post repairs.

Glad to see that you are OK.....adding a bit of levity, the shot depicts the perfect balance of the BMW oilheads.....EVEN WHEN THEY ARE UPSIDE DOWN!!!!

This crash was back in 07..My friend Paul was behind me on his GS.. He took the picture, and it made the back page [Slipsteam] of Cycle World March 07.. I still have the bike, it's got 54 k, and I don't plan on getting rid of her..
The tank was dented, the front end tweaked, broke the windscreen, tank bag, and camping gear went flying everywhere..I was soar but OK, hitched a ride home on the GS.. Valdi at Moto Zone in Torrance, CA. put her back together..
You would never know by looking at her today, I'll look for a proper post pic..
Love all the great info on this web site..

I'm impressed. Really, to get the bike to stop that perfectly on its top...work of art. Bet it wasn't cheap to put back together.

I love Valdi's MOTOZONE!!!!

They helped me put my first R1100S salvage back together for all its inspections.
